Mueang Chiang Mai District is the central district of Chiang Mai, home to the old city, nimman area and the international airport.&#x20;

Chiang Mai's old city is relatively small, with a square shape and a 1-mile (1.6 km) side length, making it easy to explore. The Old City is home to ancient temples, quaint shops, local eateries, and traditional architecture, offering a unique blend of history and culture, the perfect choice for a short visit.

Nimman area is a vibrant and trendy neighborhood, right next to Chiang Mai University, and is popular among digital nomads from all over the world for its numerous co-working spaces and modern amenities. The area boasts a variety of condos catering to different budgets, making it an attractive place to live. Foodies will also enjoy the abundance of affordable Michelin-rated restaurants scattered throughout the neighborhood, offering a diverse range of delicious cuisine.

Yes, you read that right. Chiang Mai's airport is right in the center of town, about a 15-minute drive from both the old city and Nimman area.

Hang Dong is located southwest of Chiang Mai, at the foot of Doi Suthep, and is the perfect entrance to nature. Many long-term foreign residents choose to live here, compared to central areas such as the old city or Nimman, you can get a larger living area, your own yard, or pool. The lifestyle here is more relaxed, with a choice of different cuisines, big farms, and cafes hidden around, but you will need your own transportation.

The area also features charming temples and natural hot springs, adding to its appeal for tourists and locals alike.
